DateMan is a combination agenda and contact management application for the Newton MessagePad. It offers the ability to track your schedule over any given length of time, from one day to three years. DateMan's strengths are too numerous to list them all, but the main features are outlined below. DateMan's views are fully user-defined and its controls are seamlessly integrated into the Newton 2.0/2.1 OS creating a smooth, efficient scheduling and contact management tool.

1. It works with the built-in Newton apps. For example: Any event entered in the Dates application built-in to the Newton PDA will be seen in DateMan and when an event is added in DateMan it will be seen by the Dates application.
2. It allows items to be linked. When a schedule item is linked, a grey arch appears to right of the item. Tapping the arch brings up a list of linked items. An item may be viewed by tapping the corresponding menu item. New in DateMan 3.14 is the addition of various linking functions centered around the action button. DateMan 3.14 modifies the action menu to include linking a note to an item, linking the item (say a note being written) to another agenda item, along with several other features.
3. It consolidates all pertinent information into one easy-to-access format. Other Newton contact managers use their own storage mechanisms. DateMan uses the same information in the built-in Newton apps and makes it all accessable and viewable at once. No more roaming through multiple applications to find what has been scheduled for the day. And DateMan 3.14 allows you to totally customize how the views will appear as well as when to have DateMan wake your PDA and run DateMan.
4. DateMan sports user-definable views of scheduling items, through the Display menu. The Prefs menu contains 12 items, so DateMan will always display your schedule exactly how you dictate.
5. Input of new agenda items and information is still centered around the DateMan Iconð however, the function of the DM icon has been greatly extended. Now DateMan can be launched from the DM icon, and the Dates silk-screen icon and title can be configured to each have independent functions. Configure the DM button to open an overview of the day when tapped. Have the word Dates bring up a list of recent items, and more. The choice is yours with DateMan 3.14.
6. DateMan 3.14 also provides tight control over fonts, allowing space-conscious users to cram loads of microscopic text onto their agenda overview screen, for a full view of the day. Define fonts for Items, Today's Items, and Labels.
